Description

Smals seeks an experienced Infrastructure Architect (DevOps & Cloud) to accelerate the expansion of our and our partners’ presence in both our on-premise cloud and the public cloud.

For the particular mission at hand, two aspects are crucial:

  • Have relevant, proven, hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure architectures and landing zone designs, ideally within service provider types of organizations.
  • Embrace the DevOps mindset, and possess both the technical and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with infrastructure developers, operations engineers, end-users and management.

Furthermore you have experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management (ideally Ansible, but can be other technologies).

Responsibilities of the Infrastructure Architect (DevOps & Cloud) include:

  • To collaborate with the other infrastructure architects to define the cloud governance, to set up a secure landing zone in Azure that aligns with this governance, and to document and automate this set-up (infrastructure as code).
  • To provide technical guidance based on your own practical expertise.
  • To collaborate and communicate with all stakeholders, including development, infrastructure development and operational staff.
  • To contribute to the continuous improvement of our systems and infrastructure: we value your past practical experience.
  • To improve certain cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service offerings from Smals. This can be in different areas, including service definition, implementation, monitoring, metrics, automation and automated testing, all in close collaboration with the product/service owners, infrastructure development and operational staff.

Work Environment:

  • Telework (7h48/day) with a presence on site at Brussels at least one day/week
  • First contract until 31/12/2024 and then renewable by period of 3 or 6 months
