Description

Junior Project Manager

Purpose of the role:

o To coordinate one or more small-scale projects within the PMO’s Project Management Office, working with the project team to produce the expected result as specified in the project documentation.

o Depending on the workload, providing ad hoc support to the Project Management Office.

Result areas:

o Leading and organising project activities from A to Z in order to achieve the project outcomes set to meet the planned specifications.

o Define the project (structure, scope, plan and key tasks) and assist in the formulation and determination of project requirements in order to prepare the project organisation.

o Manage and deliver the project, communication boards and monitor the progress and quality of the work carried out to ensure that it produces the desired result (delivery, schedule, scope and budget).

o Develop expertise in communicating business process improvement ideas with a positive and constructive attitude and communicate project information effectively and accurately to the client and project team.

o Through reporting and communication, keep key stakeholders informed of the status of the project and any issues encountered that may impact on the project.

o Coordinate the work of project resources from different departments to optimise collaboration between project team members.

o Manage the project team and follow-up meetings to ensure effective communication between project team members and take appropriate action.

o Use appropriate reporting tools drawn from PMO’s Project Management Framework guidelines to inform management and stakeholders.

o Participate in the development of tools or thematic working groups to meet the needs identified by the PMO manager.

 

Qualifications required to succeed in this role:

o 2 years relevant experience in a similar role;

o Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to deal with internal and external stakeholders;

o Strong MS Office skills, including Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Word;

o Proficiency in Power BI;

o Use of project management/project planning tools (e.g. MS Project, PlanView,…);

o Mature, motivated with a positive attitude and good work ethic, the successful candidate will be a proactive team player;

o Able to work autonomously with little supervision and management;

o Able to demonstrate problem solving skills;

o Excellent organisational skills coupled with excellent interpersonal skills.
