Description
Smals is seeking an experienced Scrum Master for the Prescriptions Program.
In this role, the candidate will support four teams operating within the domains of medicinal prescriptions, referral prescriptions, referral prescription support, and the MyHealth mobile application. These are long-term, strategically important initiatives with multi-year roadmaps.
Each team is overseen by a Project Manager following the PRINCE2 methodology, while the delivery teams operate according to Scrum principles. The referral prescription teams additionally apply the SAFe framework to support quarterly planning and coordination activities.
The client, NIHDI, provides a Business Project Manager for each workstream and a Product Owner for some streams.
We are looking for a senior professional who combines strong expertise in Agile methodologies with a pragmatic and results-oriented approach. The ideal candidate is capable of coaching both development teams and stakeholders in the consistent application of Scrum and Agile practices, while ensuring that any necessary adaptations preserve the underlying Agile values and principles. The role also requires the ability to operate effectively within a complex organizational environment, where certain governance structures and roles may not always align fully with a pure Agile framework.
As part of the long-term evolution of the program, the successful candidate will be expected to take on the Release Train Engineer (RTE) role from 2027 onwards. The candidate should therefore demonstrate both the ambition and capability to grow into this position and obtain the SAFe Release Train Engineer certification by the end of 2026.
Given the highly colllaborative nature of the position, excellent communication skills are essential. Professional proficiency in French, Dutch, and English is therefore required.
