Role Overview

The msg.PM Functional Consultant/Developer is a critical hybrid position responsible for the end-to-end implementation, configuration, and technical development of insurance products using the integrated msg.PM and PMQ solution. This role requires a deep understanding of insurance product lifecycle management.

 

Key Responsibilities

Functional Consulting & Configuration

  • Analyze and interpret business requirements from stakeholders and translate them into effective SAP product structures.
  • Collaborate with Actuarial and Product Development teams to translate complex insurance product definitions (Life, P&C, Health) into the msg.PM Designer (Eclipse-based) toolset.
  • Define and maintain the product model (structures), rules, calculations, and tariffs (Arrays, Tables) within msg.PM.
  • Manage product versions, deployment (compilates/QAR content archives), and integration into the FS-PM runtime environment (TOMATOSJ and MSGPMCON).
  • Utilize PMQ Designer features for version management, object search, and deployment quality assurance.
  • Perform system configuration within SAP FS-PM to enable the consumption of the msg.PM product engine data.
  • Configure the In-Force Business Configurator within FS-PM to correctly replicate static product information.
  • Define and customize Business Processes (New Business, Change, Renewal) and Business Transactions in FS-PM that trigger msg.PM calculations.

Development & Technical Implementation

  • Utilize ABAP/ABAP OO for enhancements and customizations within SAP FS-PM, focusing on areas related to product data handling and calculation calls.
  • Debug and troubleshoot runtime issues involving the FS-PM MSGPMCON component and the TOMATOSJ calculation server.
  • Provide technical design specifications for complex RICEF objects that interface with the msg.PM product logic.

 

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Expertise in msg.PM Designer (Product Modeling, Tariffs, Calculations). Deep understanding of insurance product structures and logic for Life, P&C, or Health. Knowledge of the MSGPMCON/TOMATOSJ runtime environment.
  • Strong configuration skills in SAP FS-PM (Business Processes, In-Force Business Configurator, Contract Structure). Understanding of how FS-PM consumes the external msg.PM product engine.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience specifically with msg.PM.
    • Proven experience in defining, deploying, and supporting insurance product tariffs and logic.
    • Practical experience as both a Functional Consultant (Configuration) and an ABAP Developer (Coding/Technical Debugging).
