General Description
The NIHDI (INAMI-RIZIV) and the Mutualities in Belgium have decided to set up a common modern data platform to share high quality health related information between their organizations. Both parties have already local data solutions and competencies that will now converge into a single version of the truth analytics solution in the cloud Azure Databricks.
The Data Engineer plays a key role in the development of different components of the data platform (data validation engine, master and referentials data hub). The role combines application development, REST API development, data platform development, Azure Databricks and DevOps / CI-CD practices.
The Data Engineer works in close collaboration with the Project Manager, the Data Architect, and Data Functional Analysts of INAMI and also with the data teams of the Mutualities.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Perform functional analysis of the project’s data requirements
• Design, build and deploy a data hub connected to several referentials and master data sources. The hub will include specific CRUD and data transformation functionalities.
• Develop and maintain REST interfaces and connector services supporting data exchange, configuration, validation and integration with the data platform
• Participate to the development of a data validation engine solutions to check data quality of different external data sources.
• Test the developed solution, conduct troubleshooting, provide maintenance and adequate technical documentation.
• Conduct prototype reviews and demo’s including training to the users.
• Works with the Project Leader along the entire project lifecycle to ensure appropriate delivery in an agile and pragmatic approach.
Technical Skills
• Master degree in Computer Science or equivalent through experience.
• Minimum 7 years of experience as a Data Engineer in the Microsoft BI stack (Visual Studio, SSIS, SQL Server from a development perspective)
• Data functional analysis experience
• Good experience in Azure databricks & Python
• Experience in rest API is a plus
• Experience with data analytics design (Kimball dimensional modelling)
• Experience in master data management and data quality controls is definitively a plus
• Experience in working in an agile project mode is a plus
