Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled SAP Authorization Consultant / Developer to design, implement, and manage SAP authorization concepts across SAP landscapes. The role focuses on ensuring secure, compliant, and efficient user access while supporting business operations and regulatory requirements. The consultant will work closely with functional, technical, and compliance teams to deliver robust SAP security solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Authorization & Security Responsibilities
- Design and maintain SAP authorization concepts for:
- SAP ECC / SAP S/4HANA
- SAP Fiori and SAP GUI
- Create and manage:
- Roles (Single, Composite, Business Roles)
- Authorization objects and profiles
- Perform user administration (user creation, lock/unlock, role assignment).
- Implement Segregation of Duties (SoD) controls and access policies.
- Support audit and compliance requirements (SOX, GDPR, internal audits).
- Analyze and resolve authorization issues using:
- SU53, STAUTHTRACE, SUIM
- Coordinate emergency access (Firefighter) processes where applicable.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Development & Technical Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance authorization-related ABAP objects where required.
- Support and configure authorization checks in custom programs.
- Configure and support SAP Fiori security:
- OData service authorizations
- Catalogs, Groups, and Spaces
- Work with SAP GRC Access Control:
- ARA, ARM, EAM, BRM modules
- Support integrations with IAM systems (e.g., Active Directory, SSO).
- Perform role transport management and system refresh support.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Strong experience in SAP Authorization & Security.
- In-depth knowledge of:
- SAP authorization objects and role design
- SAP S/4HANA security concepts
- Experience with SAP GRC Access Control.
- Hands-on experience with Fiori authorization concepts.
- Solid understanding of SAP user lifecycle management.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Professional Experience:
- 4–10+ years of SAP experience with a focus on Authorization/Security.
- Experience supporting large SAP landscapes and multi-system environments.
- Prior involvement in SAP S/4HANA implementation or migration projects
