Business Data Engineer / Data Analyst

Organization

  • Reporting line: Reports to the Data Intelligence Manager
  • Operational management: Daily operational management by the Data Domain Lead

Role Summary

As a Data Analyst, you will play a dual role combining dashboard development and business/functional analysis during the intake and refinement phases of data products. You will be a key contributor in transforming business needs into actionable, reliable, and high-quality data products.

Your responsibilities include gathering and translating business requirements, performing data analysis, and designing intuitive dashboards that deliver meaningful insights to decision-makers. You will work closely with the Data Domain Lead, business teams, and the Data Platform team to ensure scalable, reliable, and well-governed data solutions.


Key Responsibilities

1. Operationalizing Data Insights

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive dashboards and reports aligned with business objectives.
  • Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities to optimize business operations.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability through robust validation and quality controls.

2. Functional Analysis & Requirements Gathering

  • Act as the primary point of contact during the intake and refinement stages of data products.
  • Gather, document, and challenge business requirements in close collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs into clear technical specifications and data product requirements.
  • Propose data-driven solutions aligned with business objectives and support their implementation.

3. Dashboard Development & Data Visualization

  • Design and build interactive, user-friendly dashboards that provide actionable insights.
  • Use advanced data visualization tools to tailor dashboards to the needs of different business units.
  • Continuously improve dashboards based on user feedback and evolving business requirements.

4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate closely with the Data Platform team to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of data products.
  • Work with Data Domain Leads, Data Engineers, and other stakeholders to align data initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Manage a diverse set of stakeholders and collaborate with global counterparts to drive impactful initiatives.

5. Technology & Tools

  • Stay up to date with emerging data visualization and analytics technologies; proactively learn and adopt new tools.
  • Develop data products using tools such as Power BI or equivalent analytics platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards.

6. Data Education & Awareness

  • Provide training and support to business users on dashboard usage and data interpretation.
  • Promote a data-driven culture by encouraging the effective use of analytics and visualization tools across the organization.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in data analysis, dashboard development, and data visualization (e.g. Power BI or equivalent).
  • Strong capability to gather business requirements and translate them into actionable data products.
  • Proficiency in SQL, data analysis techniques, and data visualization best practices.
  • Experience managing data-related projects from development to deployment.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments and data management tools.
