A.    Introduction

The objective is to reinforce the Capacity & Monitoring team with the following key responsibilities:

Primary Task :  Implementation of the end-to-end monitoring of our business-critical applications using the Dynatrace monitoring tool  

b Secondary Task : Serve as a backup for production interventions, using the IBM Workload Scheduler and RVS Transfer Tool.

 

B.     E-2-E Monitoring Implementation tasks

 

1.        Implement monitoring solutions to ensure optimal performance and availability of applications and infrastructure.

  • Deploy and configure Dynatrace OneAgent across various platforms (Windows, Linux , AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, etc.) and  follow up their lifecycle. 
  • Set up Synthetic Monitoring to track application availability and performance from internal and external locations.
  • Set up Real User Monitoring (RUM) to capture end-user interactions and performance metrics.
  • Configure dashboards and alerts to monitor KPIs and detect anomalies.
  • Implement Business Observability monitoring to have a real E2E monitoring.  
  • Collaborate with application teams to set up monitoring and specific alerts tailored to their needs.

2.        Implement “Dynatrace Extensions” to extend Dynatrace capabilities to cover additional technologies and custom requirements not natively supported by Oneagent .

  • Manage and configure Dynatrace extensions.
  • Troubleshoot extensions with logs and events in context.
  • Upload and configure custom extensions tailored to specific needs.
  • Monitor the status and performance of running extensions.
  • Follow up the lifecycle of installed extensions

 

3.        Administration functionalities to manage and maintain the Dynatrace environment

  • Create TAGs to group related entities which helps to organize and filtering our monitored data
  • Configure network zones and settings for optimal performance.
  • Set up Log Monitoring
  • Set up Anomaly detection for all components ( hosts , services , process, databases , web applications , metrics , extensions , …)  
  • Set up alerting profiles and user notifications
  • Control access to features and data through Access Management .
  • Monitor system notifications and maintain cluster health.

 

4.        Budget Analyzing with Account Manager to optimize budget and forecast costs for Dynatrace usage.

  • Analyze Dynatrace Platform Subscription (DPS) history, including usage, cumulative costs, and forecast costs all the enabled capabilities.
  • Utilize cost monitors to manage budget and identify unexpected cost increases.

 

5.        Ticket Creation and Follow-Up to ensure timely resolution of issues and continuous support.

  • Create support tickets for any issues or requests related to Dynatrace.
  • Follow up on open tickets to ensure they are resolved promptly.
  • Maintain communication with Dynatrace support to track progress and updates.

C.   Production intervention   

 

1.        Planning and follow up daily production with IBM Workload Scheduler

2.         Planning and follow up daily production transfers using RVS Transfer Tool
