Assistant for visually impaired staff

 

Context

 

Credendo is an insurance company that specializes in trade credit insurance. Credendo has with offices throughout Europe. It is a medium sized company with 500+ employees.

Credendo recognizes the supporting visual impaired staff as part of its inclusion approach. In this perspective we are looking for support staff to perform practical tasks in order to allow our visual impaired staff members to handle their responsibilities effectively and efficiently.

 

Your assignment

 

This assignment is to support a member of the Credendo Security and Compliance ICT team. You identify, together with the impaired staff member, where you can help. This will include tasks that are difficult to perform or are time-consuming because of the impairment.

 

Support is needed for administrative activities and for tasks that require a lot of information processing or creation. The exact list of tasks is still to be determined but can include:

  • Manage general administration
  • Schedule meetings and manage the agenda & mailbox
  • Write documents and prepare presentations based on (oral) input
  • Edit documents, mails, meeting minutes
  • Finding and compiling information on the internet
  • Navigation support during breaks, events or trainings outside the office

 

You are not expected to provide expert input related to security or company matters. You help the staff member in the security and compliance team with communicating his input.

 

Work Schedule

On average, two times 4 hours per week. The schedule will be mutually agreed upon, taking into account the internal working agenda of the staff to be supported.

 

Work Location

The support needs to be provided on location. This will be either at the office of Credendo in Brussels (Montoyerstraat 3, 1000 Brussels), or home office in Hasselt. The location is determined on a weekly basis by the working agenda of the staff member.

 

Your profile

 

  • Proven ability supporting visually impaired people in an administrative work context
  • Good professional writing skills
  • A pragmatic attitude towards problem solving
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Fluent in English, with a basic command of French and Dutch
  • Adaptable to dynamic situations and proactive work ethic
  • Familiarity with security and compliance terminology is a plus
