Mission: Interim Manager/Head of IT Infra Dep.

We are currently looking for a hands-on candidate passionate about making a difference as an Interim Manager of IT Infrastructure to join our team.

Job description:

You will be responsible for leading a team of infrastructure engineers and ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of our critical IT systems, networks and oversee the deployment of projects builds working alongside the service operations lead and project team.

The ideal candidate will have a technical background, be highly organized and be able to effectively lead a team of engineers in support of live operations and project builds.

Responsibilities:

People/Resource management:

  • Leading and motivating a team of 10-20 internal and external infrastructure engineers to design, deploy, and maintain the organizations’ IT infrastructure;
  • Managing the follow-up and timely renewal of several infrastructure maintenance and service contracts, license subscriptions and license compliance within long term license agreements (Enterprise License Agreements);
  • Work together with the cluster managers and development teams around Infrastructure topics.

Budget management:

  • Report on the (on premise and cloud) Infrastructure OPEX and CAPEX budget and spendings;

Risk management and process improvement:

  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the deployment process by identifying areas of improvement, implementing changes as necessary/resolving potential roadblocks and ensuring the implementation of solutions as agreed with the CIO.

Vendor selection and management:

  • Recommending & selecting suppliers;
  • Follow-up of the contracts and SLA’s;
  • Exchanging information with suppliers and external parties and decide on the scope of their use within maintenance and project activities.

ITIL continuity management:

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies and evaluate their potential impact on the organization’s infrastructure.

Communication:

  • Communicate project status and progress to key stakeholders, including senior management;
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and resolve infrastructure-related issues;

Skills and experience:

  • Master in IT or engineering option IT, or equivalent through experience;
  • At least 10 years of experience in a similar role;
  • A proven track record in Infrastructure management;
  • Key concepts of a datacenter stack:
    • Storage (IMB SVC / S3)
    • Hypervisor / Compute (VMWare)
    • OS layer Windows / Linux
    • Network Layer
      • Intra datacenter
      • Inter datacenter
      • Cloud Connect
      • Security / Firewall (CheckPoint)
    • Automation / Orchestrator layer (Morpheus, Terraform, SCCM, Intune, Ansible)
    • IAM (AD, Trustbuilder, Azure AD)
    • O365 stack
    • Concept stretched datacenter + concept datacenter extensie naar de cloud (Layer 2)
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies;
  • People/Resources/budget management;
  • ITIL continuity management (ITSCM);
  • Vendor selection and management;
  • Contract management;
  • Risk management and process improvement ;
  • Infra management tools;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • An excellent command of French and Dutch and English.

Deliverables after 3 months of service:

  • Gaining of competence and management recognition/authority within the team;
  • Good understanding of the basics of the business, with a clear view on the ongoing projects, both for infrastructure as for the business projects;
  • A successful first evaluation on the infrastructure & networks environment, resulting in a confirmed or adapted roadmap, incl. improvement options.

Timing:

  • Start date: 20/03/2023
  • End date: 30/09/2023 (potential extension, depending on the needs)
  • Interview process: 2 rounds
    • 1st round of 1 hour with HR and the Head of Product Development (via Teams) – Please note that only the presence of the candidate is accepted
    • 2nd round of 1 hour for the final interview with the HR Director and the CEO (interview onsite) – Please note that only the presence of the candidate is accepted
