Aquafin chooses ProUnity for its external talent search and management

Freelancers and suppliers get easy access to challenging assignments

Water utility company Aquafin has awarded its contract for finding and managing external talent for eight years to HR tech company ProUnity. Freelancers and service companies now find attractive new assignments from Aquafin on the ProUnity platform. Many challenges await the Flemish clean water advocate. So, it is looking for external experts in ICT, Finance, Procurement, HR, and technical jobs, along with permanent employees.

Clean waterways and bringing water into harmony with our environment is vital for our society

In addition to over 1,100 permanent employees, Aquafin attracts all kinds of external experts to work on projects and reach its goals. After an intensive public tender with three candidates, Aquafin chose ProUnity as its long-term partner to fluently channel and manage its flow of attractive jobs for external talent.

The ProUnity partnership combines using a powerful VMS platform with a broad external talent marketplace and advice

As a broker, the ProUnity team helps to screen candidates, supervise contractual and administrative processing, and monitor time registration and invoicing. ProUnity’s solution quickly and efficiently links external talent to interesting projects, with respect for public procurement rules, which is a great asset for all parties.

The right moment

Jan Goossens, CEO at Aquafin: “Aquafin recently not only received additional responsibilities to further expand the Flemish wastewater system, we’re also extensively diversifying our services, including the provision of green power, green gas and green heating. So, our collaboration with ProUnity comes at the right time to address these challenges. Via their external talent platform, we will jointly offer interesting jobs with a sense of innovation and sustainability. This perfectly matches the fresh wind blowing through our company; you can feel it in all disciplines and at all levels.”

David Muyldermans, CEO at ProUnity adds: “This new assignment confirms our team can help to make a difference as a full HR partner for government organisations, now and in the future. It shows our integrated offer of a VMS, marketplace and consultancy really is a powerful alternative to other major players. We’re proud Aquafin selected us as their eight-year partner. It is an important organisation with strong values… expertise, empathy, environmentally driven, connecting, innovative, and entrepreneurial. We join them with enthusiasm!”

About Aquafin

Aquafin collects household wastewater throughout Flanders and treats it until it can be returned to nature. Today, about 85% of all household wastewater in Flanders is connected to one of Aquafin’s treatment plants. Its core activities are operational management, asset management of the infrastructure and further expansion and optimisation of the water treatment infrastructure.

In addition, Aquafin provides advice on the sustainable use of rainwater to prevent soil dehydration and reduce the impact of heavy showers. The largest client is the Flemish Region for which Aquafin manages the infrastructure that falls under supra-municipal jurisdiction. It also takes care of financing the necessary investments. Cities and municipalities can also call on Aquafin. Over one in three local authorities work with them for municipal sewer management, either directly or through a partnership with drinking water companies Water-link or De Watergroep (Riopact).

The subsidiary Aquaplus deploys Aquafin’s knowledge and expertise for industrial clients with in-house water treatment.
